UGH, MY COMPUTER ISN'T WORKING!

This is the worst! I have to get my work/studies/game on done and my computer just won't power on/turn on/boot up. I've tried all sorts of things like pressing the on switch, checking the cable and even trying a different outlet, but nothing is working! Could it be that there's something wrong with the hard drive? I'm totally confused. Any tips?
